🐝 A community united around bees.

🐝🌍 In Mayo-Banyo, Cameroon, days often begin together.

While some people prepare the fields, others gather near the hives installed as part of the project. Advice is exchanged, learned practices are shared, and there is also laughter, despite the fatigue. Here, beekeeping has become much more than an activity: it is a project driven by an entire beekeeping community. 🍯

The women of the village play a key role. Together, they take part in honey production, learn how to value local natural resources, and create new sources of income for their families.

And around them, the children watch, observe, and grow up with these practices.

They learn that caring for bees also means caring for trees, crops, water… and ultimately, their own future. 🌱

Little by little, this knowledge is passed down from one generation to the next.

In a region made vulnerable by climate change, each installed hive represents much more than honey production. It symbolizes solidarity, knowledge transfer, and a community’s ability to build sustainable solutions together.

Because on this World Bee Day, we celebrate all these families, women, children, and villages who, together, protect biodiversity and build a more resilient future. 💛🐝
