ACT

Act today so that life can take root again

Restore the forests, restore life

Restoring a forest is not simply about planting trees. It is about choosing the right species, planting them in the right place, and rebuilding coherent and resilient ecosystems.
Our landscape approach takes into account soils, water, biodiversity and local uses. It aims to restore habitats, strengthen biodiversity and recreate sustainable balances.
Communities are at the heart of every step — from species selection to plantation management — because successful restoration is always collective and rooted in the territory.

Agroforestry: producing without destroying

Agroforestry reintroduces trees into the heart of agricultural systems to restore soils and strengthen resilience to climate change. Trees improve soil fertility, limit erosion, promote water infiltration, and protect crops thanks to a more stable microclimate.
The diversification of species — fruit trees, local species, nitrogen-fixing trees — recreates habitats for pollinators and local fauna, thus contributing to the restoration of biodiversity and the reduction of pressure on natural forests.
For communities, trees also represent a direct source of income: fruits, seeds, sustainable timber, and other forest products help diversify financial resources and strengthen food security. Trees thus become an economic as well as an ecological asset.

Preserving the last forests: an ecological and human emergency

Trees at the heart of climate action

Faced with climate change, trees are among the most powerful solutions we have. In agroforestry as well as in the restoration of natural habitats, they capture CO₂, store carbon in the long term and strengthen the resilience of landscapes.
By planting millions of trees each year, Graine de Vie makes a tangible contribution to reducing global emissions and creating more resilient communities. But planting isn't enough: choosing the right species, in the right place, within the right ecosystem is a balance we strive to achieve in every project.
These actions are carried out with communities, at the heart of the territories, to guarantee a lasting impact — for the climate, for biodiversity and for future generations.

Natural forests are among the last remaining havens of biodiversity and play a vital role in climate regulation. True carbon sinks and reservoirs of life, they are nevertheless threatened by population growth, the search for agricultural land, and dependence on wood energy. Graine de Vie Luxembourg is working to restore these habitats by prioritizing native tree species and collaborating closely with local communities. The objective is twofold: to protect and regenerate ecosystems while offering sustainable alternatives—such as the creation of woodlots, the distribution of improved cookstoves, and the development of income-generating activities—in order to reduce the pressure on natural forests.

EVERY GESTURE COUNTS

A proven impact, with projects that contribute to tangible and measurable climate action.

In Africa, reforestation is now working towards a sustainable future in Luxembourg and Europe.

A real impact, but reversible. Support projects that reduce this footprint.

CARBON FOOTPRINT

Measure your impact. Act with intention.

Understanding your carbon footprint is the first step towards a more sustainable lifestyle. The Luxembourg government provides a simple and transparent calculator to assess the impact of your travel, food, housing, and consumption.
